The Journal

The Indian Journal of Information, Library & Society commenced publication in 1988 and has successfully completed 38 years of continuous scholarly contribution. It is a quarterly, double-blind peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research articles and review papers addressing contemporary developments in library and information science. The journal particularly emphasizes library technologies, information and communication technologies (ICT) applied to library activities, services and products, as well as scientometrics and bibliometrics.

The major subject areas covered by the journal include information systems, knowledge management, ICT applications in library and information centres, information behaviour and retrieval, librarianship and library management, library and information services, records management, preservation and conservation, and the role and impact of libraries on society

The journal is intended for librarians, documentation and information professionals, LIS teachers, researchers, students, and all others interested in library and information science. All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process. Authors working in the above-mentioned areas are invited to contribute their scholarly work for publication in the journal.

The journal does not levy any Article Processing Charge (APC) on authors for manuscript submission, peer review, publication, or online access, ensuring free and equitable dissemination of scholarly research.
